1. Please post the make and full model details of the laptop
2.Immediately after the post screen keep tapping F8 key
Is one of the options available
Repair your computer - presumably yes as I take it that is where you attempted system restore from. - DO NOT select that yet but on the general F8 screen try as below please
presuming that you have already tried Last Known Good - if not try that.
If you have not tried Safe Mode please do so - not safe mode with networking.
If you have Low Resolution Mode try that as well
Also try disable driver signature enforcement
If none of those work select Repair your computer and then -cmd pormpt
At cmd prompt type
chkdsk C: /r
presuming that you know C drive is the drive with Windows installed. UNLESS you known differently you may safely presume it is.
