Sounds like you have a missing video driver.

I heard about this Everest program, but where can I download it?

you can use Everest Home Edition to determine the exact video card you have. Once you have that you need to download the current driver for your video card. If you need help finding the video driver you need, post back with whatever information on your video card and motherboard you find using everest.

Your Video Adapter is Intel 82810 GMCH0. You can find the driver at Intel's Site. :tazz:

I have a similar problem, but I already updated the catalyst drivers. I only get 32 and 16 bit as choices in display settings, but I need 256 to run a game. Here's the report summary:
