Hello,

I have a odd problem and I'm not quite sure how to pin point the issue.

I run firefox - the most recent updated version (10.0.2 I think?), and the issue I seem to be having (intermittently mind you), is that when I am downloading files from various virtual locker types of sites - my downloads stutter.

By this I mean the following:

File downloading at xxxx/kbps 1min left to complete
File downloading at xxxx/kbps 59secs left to complete
File downloading at xxxx/kbps 58secs left to complete

- pause for random amount of time -

File downloading at xxxx/kbps 59secs left to complete
File downloading at xxxx/kbps 58secs left to complete
File downloading at xxxx/kbps 57secs left to complete

- pause for random amount of time -

and so on and so forth.

So even though the file will say it only has 10mins left to download for example, in reality it will actually take 20mins or maybe even longer.

and this doesn't happen all of the time, nor does it seem to happen elsewhere, like for example streaming videos on youtube, or downloading game files from various companies websites.

To give a couple of examples, I just downloaded a file from rapidshare - said it was going to take like 8 mins to complete, actually took closer to 20, and again downloaded another from depositfiles, was supposed to take like 4mins, took more like 25mins.

I used to get this issue once in awhile from megaupload as well.

Now, I am not sure if it is a problem on my end, or a problem on their end.

I run windows 7 ultimate x64
I have 12 gigs of ram
quad core phenom @ 3.2g
640gig 7200 RPM WD black caviar SATA 6gig HDD

I have a cable modem, no router or anything, connected directly to my PC.
I have no 3rd party anti-virus / firewall software messing anything up - pretty sure I have it all windows stuff disabled...

In any case, I am at a loss.

Any help would be appreciated.
