nope... the hard drive is a Maxtor i dont' know what numbers but Plus II 250gb 7200rpm Serial ATA150 8mb Cache... i think i over payed for it... 135....doh...

Pre - SP1 is going to have a problem with a 250Gig Drive and if you are downloading SP2, you're going to have to make a slipstreamed CD with both your original XP and SP2.

i'm downloading the whole thing... Windows Xp Pro w/SP2 CorpEdition.... i have no clue what CorpEdition is all about any ideas??? its 627 mbs.....

i don't think i ever mentioned this but yeah when i start my computer with the 250gb hard drive... it makes a continuous beep.... then stops then right before the selection screen of picking fresh installation or repair or F3 to quit.... it starts same beep again and beeps for about 10 seconds....

i have another topic (same type of problem) bur my motherboard see's the hard drive, but windows doesnt and the drivers cannot be put onto the floppy disc due to an error.
my S-ata drive is:
Maxtor DiamondMax 10 160GB SATA150 HD.
not that that will help as its windows and the drivers that are at fault. im not intrested in that though, all i want is my drive to work

with regards to putting windows on... your sata utility has to find the drive, if it dont you cant go forward with no drive according to the computer to put windows on
