Quality brands are yes however they are slower and may have a shorter warranty period.Are the new 5400 rpm (green)variable speed hd ok?
A faster drive, most modern HDDs are the SATA type due to motherboard manufacturers phasing out IDE slots on their MBs.Or only look for the 7200 SATA
