Sooooo. It does have a switch to turn wireless off. Don't recall which model my son has but his ASUS has a switch as well. Hard to find if you don't know where to look.

If you really want it gone for good, it wouldn't be hard to completely remove the card inside the laptop. Usually it's pretty easy to access and often in the RAM compartment on many laptops. Any local computer shop should be able to do it for peanuts if you don't want to have a go yourself.

Hi Donna and Troy,

Yep, I was going to remove the screws and pull the wireless card out, and while it was on its back I noticed the extremely small, black, ON/OFF switch, which is impossible to see if you were looking from the top. I turned it OFF and then stuck a bit of sticky tape over the switch so that it won't be turned ON again.
