I have an older laptop which is used infrequently (3 to 4 times per year). It comes in handy if staying in a motel. With no power for four days, I was wishing I could access it at home. The battery would need to be replaced and given its infrequent use, I don't see buying a genuine Dell. The ones on EBAY are listed as 6 cell and 9 cell. Does it matter which one I buy?

The higher the cell count, the more charge can be held in the battery. Therefore if there is no difference in price between 6 and 9 cells, always go for the 9 cell.
