CompCav,
I downloaded the new driver although I did have Sp54986 installed, I installed Sp54983 and got an error on installing Synaptics (Syn TP) Mouse. Everything seemed fine until after a reboot, then once again I could no longer double tap the touch pad to disable it but I was able to access the touch pad via Devices and Printers and changed the settings, Yayh.
Malwarebytes is certainly doing its job and has blocked incoming svhost.exe when I use my broadband stick and I haven't noticed high usage on the meter or an iexplore still running when I close down IE. Not sure if all this is normal or as the Optus tech said someone was using my laptop to bounce their signal off. Did you find any evidence of this with all the logs that I posted or was it all fairly normal stuff?

I did not find any unusual type malware or use of your machine malware.

Are there any issues remaining?

How is the computer performing overall?

CompCav, My laptop is performing well I haven't had any drop outs, no being looped, no redirects and haven't had any of the other issues happen. I haven't done an AVG scan so I don't know if it pauses during scan but I have had no pauses during update. Every thing is good. Thank you so much CompCav for all your help and patients. :)

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Your log now appears clean

The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

Remove ComboFix

  • Hold down the Windows key + R on your keyboard. This will display the Run dialogue box
  • In the Run box, type in ComboFix /Uninstall (Notice the space between the "x" and "/") then click OK

    Posted Image
  • Follow the prompts on the screen
  • A message should appear confirming that ComboFix was uninstalled

Run OTL and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programs we have used plus itself.

We will now confirm that your hidden files are set to that, as some of the tools I use will change that
  • Click Start.
  • Open My Computer.
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
  • Select the View Tab.
  • Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Do not show hidden files and folders.
  • Click Yes to confirm.
  • Click OK.

SPRING CLEAN

To manually create a new Restore Point
  • Go to Control Panel and select System
  • Select System
  • On the left select System Protection and accept the warning if you get one
  • Select System Protection Tab
  • Select Create at the bottom
  • Type in a name i.e. Clean
  • Select Create

Now we can purge the infected ones
  • GoStart > All programs > Accessories > system tools
  • Right click Disc cleanup and select run as administrator
  • Select Your main drive and accept the warning if you get one
  • For a few moments the system will make some calculations
  • Select the More Options tab
  • In the System Restore and Shadow Backups select Clean up
  • Select Delete on the pop up
  • Select OK
  • Select Delete

Now that you are clean, to help protect your computer in the future I recommend that you get the following free programs:

Malwarebytes. Update and run weekly to keep your system clean

Download and install FileHippo update checker and run it monthly it will show you which programmes on your system need updating and give a download link

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system and to keep them updated. To keep your operating system up to date visit

To learn more about how to protect yourself while on the internet read our little guide How did I get infected in the first place ?

Keep safe

Thanks CompCav. Most of the programs were deleted except aswMBR, FSS, Security Check and the file for quick shut down. Are all these ok to just shift-delete?
I've already purchased Malewarebytes and I tried 4 times to download FileHippo, twice to download setup to desktop then once to save target as, the last time was their link to download without set up. All failed, saying this program can not be downloaded?
Also I would very much like to give a money gift to you and to the wonderful people who write the programs that I was able to use, please let me know how I can do this?

Yes

Filehippo is here

I do not have a way to accept money and I am that way on purpose, this to me is a volunteer thing.
But you can donate to the authors of some of these programs like OTL or to the site.

If you liked any of my posts please click on the +like button in the lower right corner or each post. You can also post in my profile a note if you want.

Thanks
