came up with another files and it hardly got anywhere so xp cd must be a bit scratched or is the cause the files themselves being corrupt

We could try a parallel install if the repair does not work

Yes , I've thoroughly cleaned it but not expecting it to work, what does a parallel install consist of timewise as getting late

Suppose my worry is the xp cd may not install anyway if it failed o early to copy the first few files?
