IE8 Not Working

I am running IE8 on an XP desktop. It was working fine until yesterday when it suddenly started displaying an error message whenever someone opens it. The message just says Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. I tried reinstalling and I still get the problem. Any suggestions on what may be the cause and how to fix it?

Never mind I was able to fix the issue. An add on was installed yesterday when my daughter was doing something that caused the issue. Once I disabled it I was able to use IE again.
