Rather than leave any further post by you simply unresponded to by ME.
I believe it is more considerate to tell you that I have withdrawn from the topic.

In view of the number of sites on which you have posted this problem, I view any further asistance on my part, as a waste of my time.

Good Luck with it.

Do I detect a bit of resentment that you aren't the sole and final word on the matter?

Actually and mainly for the purpose of ensuring, that people browsing the site, perhaps with the intention of joining GeekstoGo, have the full picture. It is completely unconnected in any way, with your suggestion.

It is quite common to ask for help on two sites, this covers the possibility of a failure to receive a reply on one and indeed as you say, enables a comparison of suggestions offered.

To submit the same problem to EIGHT different, sites, all of whom were providing FREE advice, is a complete waste of time, from the point of view of those attempting to help you.

More to the point, to attempt to continue, responding to those eight different sites, when it MUST have been obvious to you, very early in the proceedings, that the advice was the same, on ALL eight sites, is indeed merely magnifying that waste of time.

May I ask in future, if you decide to return to GeekstoGo, when you wish advice on another problem, that you kindly mention HOW many sites you have asked for advice on, in your opening post.

Thank you for your co-operation.

JAFL,

You really don't get out much do you.

That tone is completely uncalled for.

Keep in mind that we (as well as the other support forums you sought help at) are all volunteers that do our best assisting people in their computer issues and get no pay aside from the satisfaction that we've helped yet another individual with their issues.

Do I detect a bit of resentment that you aren't the sole and final word on the matter?

I am 100% certain when I say that we do not resent people asking help on multiple forums. It just gives us a polluted view of the situation as we do not know what is being tried on other boards. Now, I am not saying you should only look for help on 1 board. I am merely suggesting that Macboatmaster had no way of knowing you had already concluded that this is most likely a power or motherboard issue. To us, this feels a bit silly. We put our (free) time and effort into troubleshooting an issue, and the only response we get is "Been there, Done that". That is why Macboatmaster said he felt it is a waste of his time.

Thank you for understanding.

Regards,
Olrik
