Been noticing that temporary folders for windows hotfixes sometimes are extracted to my external hard drive this results in the drive being locked and me being scared to force dismount it because i am not sure what damage if any this can do to the update process. how do i deny windows update access to external hard drives so it cannot store temporary hotfix folders anywhere other than c?

Systen wont allow that the external drive is a shared Raid 5 Array. i would have to kick off all users and manually remove all locking handles and than pray the computer can safley remove it. any thing else would cause degredation.
