Did you attempt a Factory Recovery?

I did when everything else failed. Is it necessary to run combofix then?

No. When the Factory Recovery is activated, all is erased and the settings will go back to the date it was first ran.

Do not stop the process as the formatting must have been done already.

If successful, I guess that will be all on our part.

it had a couple of errors but it did load up. I'm going to attempt a full system restore once more and see if that works. Thanks so much for your help!
