Problems with CD-Writer/DVD-Rom on HP

I have a HP Pavilion 750n. I recently upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate (oem). I have Kodak DVD-R 16x and Kodak CD-R 52x. When I try to use the CD-Writer or DVD-Rom it just ejects the cd's and says "Please Insert Disk Into Drive".

Do you only have one drive in this machine? What does it say on the front of the CD unit?

If it says DVD-ROM, then it's not a writer.
