Sorry to hear that. So you need to install drivers. Please do the following:

  • Please download Speccy from here install and run it.
  • Wait a few minutes then click File menu then Save as Text file... and save report to your desktop.
  • Open that txt file in Notepad and find Operating System section and delete this line: Serial Number: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
  • Save it by clicking on File and then on Save.
  • Please attach that report in your next reply.

I've managed to reinstall the windows 7 OS from the disk provided by Dell and download the Ethernet driver from another computer; then I've downloaded the drivers recommended by Dell from their web site. However, the computer seems to be running less smoother than before. I lost Windows Office Starter completely. The automatic magnification from the touchpad mouse does not work anymore.And the cursor tends to jump to another line randomly while I am typing... The Speecy file is attached.

OK. Install all drivers for your laptop. You can find them here and for graphics card here.

Then install all critical and recommended updates.
