My USB ports are not working correctly. The ports where I have my keyboard, mouse and headphones are working and then they stop. One port does not work at all. Is there any fix? I tried the one where you turn off the computer, unplug it and all the things plugged in the ports. It worked for a little while. The dead port never came back. I have a Dell desktop Inspiron that is one year old.
Thanks.
Hope this is the correct forum!

:welcome: Rosalynd Doneghy

I have a Dell desktop Inspiron that is one year old.

First off and most importantly as the desktop is only one year old is it still covered by a warranty?

There are many different models of the Inspiron, see http://search.dell.c...inspiron-580-mt can you tell us which particular model yours is please.

As some of the USB ports function it suggests this is hardware and not software related, have you tried various components in the USB port that does not function at all.

It is an Inspiron 570. The warranty expired in March. Thanks for your help.
