a few days ago the internal hard drive on my laptop (Dell Studio 1735 with Win Vista) crashed.
When I try to start it all I get is following:
"Error auto-sensing Second SATA internal hard disk drive
No boot device available - internal hard drive
No boot device available - second internal hard drive
Press Ctrl-S to Configure Device (MAC Address - 0021707F5384)
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0f: Exiting Broadcom PXE ROM
No bootable devices--strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility
Press f5 to run onboard diagnostics."
I tried to create a Linux Ubuntu bootable USB device through my old computer (Win XP), which didn't have no effect at all.
I think I did everything correctly, and I switched the order of the boot devices in the BIOS. And I tried all the USB ports...
The bootable USB worked however excellent on my dad's laptop (Win XP).
Does anyone have a clue if there's a possibility that I'll be able to recover the files on my crashed hard drive?
I don't want to send it in somewhere, because I don't have that kind of money.
Any suggestion is appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance!
Johan
