Hi muby88, welcome to G2G. I see you renamed HijackThis to get it to run, good work.

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.

hi insipid,
thnx for the reply i have tried to install the updates there seems to be a problem but i did read on the website which said "if u have windows XP SP1 then u do not need SP1a". SO i have not yet installed the updates as there is a problem while installing. But still if u could tell me how to get rid of "msdirectx" i wud be gratefull of u,

muby88, please revisit Windows Update and install Service Pack 1A, even if it says you don't need it. Your log shows you don't have SP1, and I'm not at liberty to give advice until I see you can update Windows.

When i extracted the SP1 file this file was created in my C:\cd2ba2d081dd12c548b28ea25b4a459f i didn't kno wot to do so i think i have installed it im not sure

muby88, your still doesn't indicate that you have updated Windows. The header in your log should say this:

Platform: Windows XP SP1 (WinNT 5.01.2600)

I'm afraid I can't help you until I see that you are running a legitimate copy of Windows.
