Dual Screen Problems.

OK, whats happening is after i connect up the second monitor via VGA, (primary monitor is DVI)all tutorial's say go to display settings and alter from there where it should have a picture of two monitors, one with a number 1 and the other with a number 2.

if you look at the attachment you will see what i mean by i don't get given that choice, is there a patch or something i may download to rectify this problem? I'm running Windows XP Pro' version 2002, service pack 3. if that is any help at all.

Can you please tell me what kind of computer that you have make and model?

Perhaps an update of your graphics driver will help.




See if drivermax has an update for your graphics driver.

If that doesnt help you then please do the following.

Please download MINITOOLBOX When the box opens click save file, save it to the desktop and run it.




Checkmark the following boxes:


List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size
List Devices (Only Problems)

i have updated my graphics card but was forced to perform a system restore as it destroyed the option to even have the computer running with the two screens active with the secondary monitor cloning the primary, the computer is fairly old now but i know of other people running dual screen with the same model, it is the Dell™ OptiPlex™ GX150.

i think its been like this for the past 5 years as i have only just got it out again to set it up for my music creation.
