I have two computers the host computer uses xp and the 2nd computer uses windows 2000 how can i share the printer?

if the printer is attached to the computer and you already have a network just go into the printers properties and select the "share printer" option and create a share name, you should see it on both computers after

try running the network wizard on both or on the win. 2000 computer make a network setup disk from the xp computer

When you add a new printer on the xp machine, you have to add it as a local printer, not a network printer, and then share the printer. I think with 2000 you have to have the Windows 2000 driver for the printer either on the local machine, or in the xp machine and then update the driver onto the 2000 pc from the server. If they were both xp, it would automatically download the driver from the server once the printer has been shared.
