I just bought a galaxy note about a week ago and I am trying to connect it to my mac for the first time. I looked up how to do it and they all say "set to usb debugging on (which I did), then plug it in(which I did), then press the usb connection button in the Notification drag down page." But when I push that nothing happens. A lot of people said to download different apps but none of them did anything. Am I stupid, this is my first android phone, am i missing something. I also tried syncing it through the wifi direct option, but it could not see my macbook pro as an option.

I AM A SERIOUS NOOB AND WOULD APPRECIATE ANY RESPONSE!
