hi there,

i downloaded ilivid on saturday night and noticed on sunday my internet was being strange, turns out the default browser had changed to searchnu.com/406. then when i checked my emails today it appears a load of spam emails went from my account with links, which i assume were trying to spread whatever virus i had. i've managed to get rid of searchnu toolbar and run a full scan of my computer with both AVG and Microsoft Security Essentials and they're coming up clear, but I'm concerned there could still be some residual malware in my system and as i use internet banking this is a worry.

any advice would be very much appreciated.

thanks, amy

# Step 1 #

Download OTL to your Desktop
  • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
  • Select All Users
  • In Extra Registry, select Use SafeList
  • Under the Custom Scan box paste this in
    netsvcs
    msconfig
    drives
    %SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.*
    %systemdrive%\drivers\*.exe
    %systemroot%\system32\drivers\*.* /90
    %PROGRAMFILES%\*.*
    /md5start
    explorer.exe
    winlogon.exe
    Userinit.exe
    svchost.exe
    /md5stop
    C:\Windows\assembly\tmp\U /s
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\CLIENTS\Startmenuinternet|command /rs
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\CLIENTS\Startmenuinternet|command /64 /rs

  • Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
  • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
  • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time and post them in your topic
