Hi, welcome to GeeksToGo! I'm havredave, and I'll do my best to help you fix whatever it is that ails your computer.

Just a few things before we begin, to ease the process on both of us:
  • Please don't run any scanning or cleaning software without my direction, as it can make things worse and take longer in the long run.
  • Please be patient. A good cleaning can take quite a while, and usually involves many steps before it is complete. I may not post back quickly, because I often have to research issues or run ideas by my peers for a more thorough fix.
  • You may wish to print out each instruction post in case you lose Internet connectivity (using safe mode, for example), so you can complete the fix.
  • If you have any question on any step, or if something doesn't work as described, please stop and ask before we proceed. Better safe than sorry!
  • Please paste your logs into your replies instead of attaching them. This makes it far easier to review. Feel free to use multiple replies if you need to.
  • Please stick with me until I let you know we're finished. Even if the machine is running better, it doesn't mean it's clean.

Please also post the Extras.txt that should have been created when you did your OTL run. I'd like to confirm some of the issues I found with its output. Nothing infection-related at this point, but important enough to fix.

I'm in MST (GMT-7), so my answers will likely be a bit out of sync with yours. It looks like your machine is mostly OK on first blush though, with a few exceptions I've listed below. If you'd like, we can run a few other programs to dig a little deeper for malware, but I'm not seeing evidence of infection in your OTL logs. Let me know if you'd like to dig.

I see you have two threads running. It looks like they're separate computers though, so that should be ok. Take care not to cross-post and confuse anyone. ;)

Now on to the advice:
  • I don't see an antivirus product installed, though it appears you had AVG 2012 installed at one time. I'd get an antivirus product installed immediately. You do have Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, but that's not an antivirus product. It is quite good at what it does though, so I'd keep it too.
  • Java is very out of date. Your installed version is Java™ 6 Update 17, and current is Java™ 6 Update 31. It's available here, under "Java SE 6 Update 32", though if you like you can use the "Java SE 7u4" if you would rather. In both cases, the JRE version is what you want, for Windows x64 (64-bit). It's the bottom link once you click on the JRE button in both cases. It is possible that this is how your machine got infected in the first place. It's a quite common exploitable route for current infections if it's not kept up to date.
  • Also, run Apple Updater (Start -> All Programs -> Apple Software Update and do whatever updates are available. It is not necessary to install new software from the lower pane; just install updates from the upper pane, and repeat until there are no further updates listed.
  • Adobe Reader out of date. You have version 9.0 installed, and current is 10.1.3. You can download and install the new version by visiting here. Adobe Reader won't automatically update itself from v9 to v10, which is what needs to be done here.
  • I would recommend uninstalling and not using products such as SpeedyPC Pro. The benefits they claim to give aren't really worth the risks.
  • I'd also recommend being very wary of µTorrent and other programs designed for peer-to-peer downloading. While they have good uses, you really don't know where that file is coming from, and whether or not it is infected.

That's it for this run - if you have questions or would like to dig deeper, I'm more than willing to help. Let me know!

You weren't out of line anywhere. :) There was just a bit of minor confusion since we thought you were posting twice about the same machine, when it was really about two machines. What you did was proper.

Yes, you can get rid of the software you used to clean yourself up. Most anti-malware software should be downloaded fresh, if possible, at the time of cleaning. They're updated so often, older versions aren't worth as much as one that's up to date.

The exception to this, in your list, is that I'd recommend you keep Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. MBAM is quite nice to keep and run every week or so (updating first, of course).

To remove OTL, simply start it, and press the "Clean Up" button. It'll remove itself and a few other temporary utilities, and its backup folder, and ask for a reboot. Let it, and that part will be gone.

Combofix is best removed by clicking start, and typing the following into your search/run box, and press enter: combofix /uninstall

As before, that will remove the backup folder and combofix itself.

The rest of the software you listed can be removed simply by removing the file you downloaded and logs they produced.

As far as SpeedyPC Pro goes, it was in your add/remove list according to the extras.txt I asked you to post. It's possible you already removed it though, since the scan was a little old. It's more of a recommendation of mine to not use such software than a "this is horrible" thing, so you should be OK either way.

You didn't mention anything about installing an antivirus program, so I'll point out again that you need one, just in case you overlooked it. :)
