I recently wiped my drive and re-installed windows xp, and now my computer won't recognize the speakers. I tried a different set of speakers with the same results, both speakers work fine, it's definitely the computer. Please help.

I have an Emachine T6524

Hello

Sounds (no pun intended) like you need to install some drivers. Did you run the Drivers and Applications disk when you restored your machine?

Your audio drivers can be found on the eMachines site. The other drivers are there, as well.
