Got CD-RW and copied onto it all audio.
Plays fine on pc but wont play on cd player.
CD player is not old but good
CD Player plays other music that I used the same process with.
Why these particular files?

Try burning it too a clean disc that hasn't EVER been inserted in a computer

Thats what I did - brand new disk.
Someone suggested instead of a CD-WR do a CD-R?
But that still does not explain why it plays on PC but not in CD player?

Believe it or not but some optical drives are choosy about the disks that they will recognise, this goes for both PC and general media players, try a different brand of disk and see if that works.

Got a CD-R.
Copied the audio onto it.
Still nothin.
Tried it in my car cd player and my portable - nuthin.
Why does my car and my portable player play other cd's that I have burnt off the same laptop prgram work but these audio files dont?

What you are describing may suggest that the media is encrypted (protected by copyright) and can only be played on the system it was downloaded to - iTunes is such an example of this.
If this is the situation in your case then there is a legitimate way of overcoming the problem but only if the download is for personal use as any distribution of the media breaches the copyright laws.
Please tell us where the media was downloaded from and if it was a paid for and licensed agreement.

yes it was a differnt brand of disk.
It is a site that I frequent often and the stuff is there for free to download.
There are options to download like pdf etc but the option I chose was mp3.
No downloading issues as it downloads ok and plays on disk ok but only on pc.

Followed the link.
Dragged files into media player to make a play list
Selected burn list and gave it a new CD.
It burnt the audio onto the disk and the disk plays in other cd players - great.
Problem: the file where all the original downloaded audio is kept was under 700mb/16hrs of play. The media player broke it up into about 12 disks and asked me to insert a disk at intervals.
The other disk took it all and played it on my pc - so why cant it do the same on the same disk using this format?

yes, thats how I got them to play in other cd players.
My only problem as I said is that the files have somehow expanded in the conversion and wont fit on one 700mg disk.
I can only get a few files on one disk and need 12 disks when before it was 1 disk.
These are not song files but audio books.
