I use msn ( Windows Live Messenger) - like many others, with my friends, and I have my photo there in my picture choices - I have sadly lost my original photo and having great difficulty in getting a copy back - Please, is there anyway I can get a copy back from my own picture selection on (Windows Live Messenger) msn?
I would be mighty grateful if anyone could help me with this,

thank you very much

Ricky

Can't you just right-click on the photo listed on your MSN page and click 'Save picture as' or 'Save image as' and get a copy of it that way?

You can also try and locate them in the following directory on your computer:

C:\Users\%userid%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Messenger\[Live Login]\ObjectStore\UserTile.

This is assuming you run Vista or 7 on your computer. If you use Windows XP, check:

C:\Documents and Settings\name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Messenger\[email protected]\ObjectStore

****Remember that the AppData and Application Data folders are hidden, so you need to show hidden files and folders to get them to show up.

Thank you very much LOL one of my favourite photos and I thought I'd lost it for all time ........... I'll be keeping back-ups for all my photos from now on, and securing my personal photo albums - that was such a new photo and just recently scanned, I don't know where it went from the scanner LOL but I'm delighted to have it back!

I juggled quite a lot to get to the point where I could save my photo - I had given up on that, as it refused to be copied LOL then I tried this ( your 2nd post) and could not distinguish what file was my pic LOLLLL and anyhow, couldn't open any of the files ..... (sorry, but I'm very dumb when it comes to anything remotely technical) so went back to first option of copying - and managed to do so when I got to my profile photo, on second attempt ................ so very much obliged for your time and consideration -

Sincerely

Ricky
