I have a new computer which came with Microsoft Security Essentials. I have a year left on my Eset AV left and I want to uninstall MS AV and install Eset Av.

What is best way to go about this?

What I would suggest is Uninstalling All Programs you don't need or don't want anymore through Add/Remove Programs

Do this by going to

Start and then to Control Panel
Click Add/Remove Programs
Carefully choose the program(s) you don't need
Click on each Program then click Change/Remove and Follow the Uninstall Instructions

You may be prompted to Restart your computer.
Restart once you have all the programs you don't need uninstalled.
Be careful not to remove anything needed by your computer, some of which you may be unfamiliar with the name,

So first download Eset and save, then delete MS AV? Rigvht?

Yep right sequence to follow.
Then once you get Eset installed then you can go online.

Sure - I'll help you out any way I can - great group.

But I must say I have no problem with speed of anything on this computer, my main concern is better protection. Av Comparatives gives a higher rating to Eset than MS AV.

the reason I asked is back a few months I had about 4 or 5 sites that took a minute or 2 to load...
places like newegg...harbor freight and cbsnews-nfl...once I switched out mse the issue was gone...ALL the websites load in a split second like they should

Thanks for the help. I was able to uninstall MS AV and install Eset. I have visited my usual sites and see no difference in the speed of going to sites. I hope this helps you.

hi i am having no luck with uninstalling. it did not happen and when i decided to try again, it says that it is in the process of uninstalling and to please wait.

If you've tried the other methods, you might give the "Fix It" tool found in this Microsoft Article a try. (About a third the way down the page.) It's essentially a removal tool for MSSE.
