Updating BIOS

Not actually sure what I'm doing here, Steam told me to update my BIOS to run a THQ published game.
Link provided wasn't compatible, received a file from GIGABYTE this morning, just an unrecognised file format. If anyone could direct me on the right path on how to do this I would be very thankful.

The link is only referring to five motherboards. If you do not have any of those boards a BIOS update isn't going to solve anything.

What motherboard do you have?
