Good evening,

I will try to do my best in explaining my computer problems for I am not educated with a lot of the pc terminology.

I have a rebuilt (poorly) used Dell desktop p.c. with intel pentium 4 Windows xp3 and I access the internet through a wireless adapter. It's a dinosaur but I use it just to play games and email.

My problem is unauthorized add - ons that I have no clue where, what , the [bleep] they are and came from. I have also issues with the security and privacy report popping up of which I have tried to fix that by following the steps through my p.c. help and support. But nothing. Games that I have played more than often now have a box that pops up asking me if I would like to run only secured something or other before displaying my game download. I would like to know what my advanced security settings should be set at one by one. My computer has an excellent connetion but I it is running slower than ever. I have downloaded a few malware programs and registry fixing programs from CNET but I have been very unsuccessfull with any of the trusted downloads because apparently they have not fixed my computer but downloaded more crap that I don't need. These were CNEts 5 star picks.

Let me know if you would like more information or be more specific. Here is what's on running on managed add ons:

Hi -
The above downloaded programs (CNEt) are the ones that you need to list, as you may be damaging your Operating System with them -
Generally you have not listed anything yet that would have been downloaded from Cnet -

Thank You -

A registry cleaner will not increase your system's speed or performance, and has the potential to break your registry to the point that your PC is no longer bootable.
We strongly advise that people stay away from any of the registry cleaners out there.
Go HERE to get more information about why registry cleaners aren't needed.

Thanks to Sari for the explanation

Do you suspect some type of infection has gotten into your system? If so I suggest you read the 'Start Here' topic found HERE. With these self-help tools you have a high chance of fixing the problems on your own. If you are still having problems after following Step 3 of the guide, continue with Step 4 and 5 and post in the Malware Forum. If you are unable to run any programs, Please create a topic stating what you have tried so far and that you are unable to run any programs. Also, Please do NOT post the logs in this thread.

If you are still having issues after the malware expert gives you a clean bill of health, Please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
Add a link to this topic so that malware tech can see what steps have been taken here
