I have a Dell with Windows XP and am running Firefox. Periodically I get the following error message, after which I'm unable to load any pages:

The instruction at "0x0569908d" referenced memory at "0x000569fb". The memory could not be "written".

I have the option to either hit "OK", or "Cancel" to debug. After I hit ok or Cancel, I'm unable to load any pages. So I close out of Firefox and restart, and I have Internet access once again. That is, until I get the error message again.

Help.

Most likely caused by an Add-on. Try running in Safe Mode for awhile and see if the problem occurs. If not then you need to determine which Add-on is causing the problem.

Is there a way to determine add-on history? I know there's "My Recent Documents" but I don't remember adding anyt programs within the last 3 days, when this started happening.

I removed the Verizon Internet Security Suite yesterday and reinstalled it. Late yesterday, I received a message to install McAfee SiteAdvisor and reboot. I installed it late last night, and booted this a few minutes ago. While it was installing at boot, I saw a message that my connection to the local network was extremely weak. No pages would load. So I exited my browser entirely, and re-entered it. Now I have Internet access.

Both Verizon Internet Security Suite and Site Advisor are part of my Internet service pkg. with Verizon. It's weird because the problem seems intermittent as it was before I uninstalled and reinstalled both items. My connection seemed fine with loading pages yesterday before SiteAdvisor was installed just now.

Site Advisor is not necessary and now that you gave us that info that this is a verizon connection

your speed will be determined by how far you are from the cell tower and by how many people are using it at the same time you are

I've had FIOS for 3 years, and this page loading problem associated with McSvHost.exe - Application Error only started a few days ago. Funny thing; I no longer see McAfee Site Advisor in my list of programs--only Verizon Internet Security Suite. Nothing with McAfee in the name. I'm confused because I know that I installed it again when a message popped up asking if I wanted to install it. I'll keep monitoring it because the McSvHost.exe didn't pop up at all today; I just had the "Can't load page" error message at initial startup of my Firefox browser.

Still having the McSvHost.exe - Application Error coming up and cutting off Internet access, so I hope this helps. I'm always able to get the Net back after waiting 1/2 a minute, but still frustrating.

Please Download Avast Free and Save the installation Package to your desktop do not install it yet.
http://www.avast.com/download-software Or Download the Avira Installation Package but as well do not install it yet.
http://www.avira.com...-free-antivirus Please choose only one I suggest Avast free, the use of two antivirus apps is going to cause you issues.

Disconnect your machine from the internet then, please uninstall the programs listed below.

Advanced SystemCare 5 (Version: 5.2.0)
Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer (Version: 1.0.0)
Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer (Version: 7.3.2710.138)
Google Update Helper (Version: 1.3.21.111)
McAfee Virtual Technician (Version: 6.4.0.2062)
Registry Easy v5.6 (Version: 5.6)
Verizon Toolbar (Version: 6.0.0.25)
Verizon Internet Security Suite (Version: 11.0.669)

Also please use the McaFee Removal tool if you have not already. http://majorgeeks.co...04f95b4c72f1b9e There is still a need to run the remval tool even though you have uninstalled McAfee Products.

Now reboot your machine and after completing the above. Then install either Avast or Avira. After the install of one of the AntiVirus Apps please re-connect your Machine to the net and see if the same problems persist.I know that the Verizon Internet Security Suite is a paid application but everything that I have searched on the about about it gives bad reviews Except veersion,go figure. Please let me know the out come of following my instructions,if your are not happy with anything you can just redownload the programs you wish but as for now please do as I have suggested for a diagnostic approach to solving your issue. :)

I removed all the programs (except Google Update Helper, which isn't in my Programs list) and rebooted. Then I installed Avast free and ran the full scan. No viruses found. Went back online and had no problem at startup. I'm still monitoring it, but since McAfee has been erased from my computer by that MCPR thing you had me run, I don't think it's likely I'll get it again.

In your opinion, should I discontinue my Verizon Internet Security Suite (it's been uninstalled)? I pay $5.99 a month for it and if it gives problems, then it's not worth $72 a year. I have the Avast free now installed, which is available free for 30 days after which I need to decide whether to continue. What do you recommend I do for antivirus protection? I want to do the most economical thing and yet still be protected.

Yea I really suggest that you do not go back to the Versizon security. Also you can just register Avast and you get it free for a year and after that year expires then just re-register.Also you can purchase Malwarebytes as I suggested and you will have a pretty good defense system set up on your machine this is the same setup that I run on all three of my machines. Also you can just download it and update and do scans on a bi monthly basis with the free version of malwarebytes as part of basic pc maintinence.Another thing that I would like you to do is

Download CCLEANER
http://www.piriform....leaner/download

Just DONT us the registry cleaner function of CCleaner unless you know what you are deleting exactly!!

Open Ccleaner and disable all startup entries except avast and anything to do with your wireless.
To disable start entries open ccleaner hit tools>Startup>

Lets change your dns setting to a faster more secure connection.
http://www.computerh...es/ch001161.htm
Change your dns to the below.

Preferred DNs 208.67.222.222

Alternate dns 208.67.220.220

Download Autoruns and Autorunsc unzip Autoruns to your desktop run it.See any entries that read file not found when you see them right click and select delete do this only for the entries that read file not found also uncheck any scheduled task that are set to run on your machine, close the program.
http://download.sysi...es/Autoruns.zip

Run CHKDSK /R In a command prompt window. Hit the start button then type cmd in the run box when the command prompt opens type or copy and paste the following. CHKDSK /R Reply Y when asked if you want this to happen on the next boot. Now Type Exit and Reboot your machine.

If you have any problems registring Avast let me know and I will provide a screenshot. :)
