WHAT GPU TO CHOOSE FOR A ALIENWARE M17-R1 WITH THE RARE MOTHERBOARD REVISION D600 ?

I bought this barebone laptop and now i am stuck without knowing wich gpu to install
I have tried ati 3870 and then got beep codes saying "gpu issue"
i belive i nee MXM III cards but not sure

The Alienware M17-R1 is a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870, which is not the same as a "HD3870". The clue is in "Mobility". It's a different driver.
