resolution resizes upon restart

Hi, I recently had a malware issue which I resolved: http://www.geekstogo...ss-of-internet/

However, I began experiencing another issue with my computer, that whenever when windows starts (as soon as the desktop first appears), the screen resolution is normal sized as I have it typically set, then the desktop flashes away for a quick second while continuing to load up, and it reappears at a different resolution and everything on the screen is much bigger and zoomed in and distorted. Each time I use the computer I have to manually reset the resolution, and it does not hold my setting when the computer restarts.

Gammo suggested that I post in this forum about this issue.

Please download MiniToolBox and run it.

Checkmark following boxes:

  • List last 10 Event Viewer log
  • List Installed Programs
  • List Devices - Only Problems -
  • List Users, Partitions and Memory size
  • Click Go and post the result.

Sorry for the delay in response time please uninstall the item listed below,from add remove programs.
Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver (Version: 6.14.10.4410)



Next Please open your device manager,to Open your device manager Hit the windows key or the start button then Type devmgmt.msc in your run box this will open device manager find your graphics device under diplay adapters right click it then uninstall. Just make sure that you do tick [b/] the box that I have highlighted in the shot below.

Now reboot your machine.

Now you will want to visit the manufacturers website to get a fresh copy of your graphics driver.If you are unsure then please see below.

Now please visit the intel auto update site to get the latest driver for your machine.
http://www.intel.com.../support/detect

If that fails to get your driver then please use drivermax.
http://www.innovativ....com/drivermax/

well I deleted the driver as you suggested and upon restarting for the first time in weeks the screen was sized properly. I'm thinking that it was some conflict between the built in intel integrated video card and the Nvidia add-on video card.

I don't think so. I started it up a few times now and the resolution seems to stay at a normal setting and appears fine. I appreciate it.
