The problem is,when I download and Im asked to save or run it doesnt matter which I choose.When I hit open nothing.It goes back to the prompt run or save.Down in my tray it says download but its in an orange color.What up?Thank you for your time in this.Appreciate it. :P

Open Notepad and copy the text below into it and save it to your desktop call it msi.reg then right click it and select merge Reboot your machine

See if you can then download and run the program below.

Please download FarbarServiceScanner and run it on the computer with the issue.
http://download.blee.../farbar/FSS.exe


Make sure the following options are checked:
Internet Services
Windows Firewall
System Restore
Security Center/Action Center
Windows Update

Press "Scan".
It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
Please copy and paste the log to your reply.

The problem is,when I download and Im asked to save or run it doesnt matter which I choose.When I hit open nothing.It goes back to the prompt run or save.Down in my tray it says download but its in an orange color.What up?Thank you for your time in this.Appreciate it. :P



You were able to download FSS program and run it so is your issue now solved after the registry fix I provided?

If my last post didnt help you then please do the following.


Please download the windows all in one repair tool.

Make sure all the settings are the same in the screen shots That I have uploaded for you. Make sure and back up your registry also create a restore point.This is standard for any registry adjustments.

Make sure when you run this tool that it is the only thing that you run close everything including your browser for best chance of this program doing its job.

Hey Rockmilk,thank you for your time,it is appreciated.Went and downloaded something and I got the open save prompt which I did.When I went into my doc to run it the title was there and when I opened it,it was right back were I stared and down in the tray it was in orange saying'file download' :wacko:

Can you help with this please it is on the same computer
I put my hp camera software on and its in Asian or something.Not only that but my HP programs switched to Asian as well.What the... Chuck?Ive also noticed as my home page is loading,in the google search space are oriental characters and when the page is complete it switches out to english.Ive tried goimg into the setup part of XP,at the beginning and its good for Eng

If I may intrude a little here folks.
Anytime there is a registry fix or merge being done it is always important that you do a backup to your registry first. In case something goes wrong you can return to the original registry safely.

Try and download the program in post number #8 and save it to your desktop see if you can run it from there.Also do you have your xp cd by any chance?
