Problems with microsoft word spacing when saved as pdf file

I am working on a genealogy book and using tables for the info. I have 2 tables on the same page with space between them. When I save it to a PDF file so I can take it to the printers, the two tables go together without the space between them. I need help as I am compiling the book for a family reunion in a few weeks. Thank you for your assistance.
