The problem with the computer is as follows:

At a random time, the mouse stopped working propperly, the mouse movement itself IS responding but when you try to click you can only click when you are realy in that program.
(what mean with this is when im in a game, and was able to click, i will be able "for ever" until i leave the game/application)
The pc has runned over an year without any problems.

So for example: i'm in firefox just looking at some pages nothing wrong. And then I want to click the taskbar, i coulnt click the task bar instantly. i have to wait for like 15seconds before it reacts. when i was able to click a new program, it opens. but when you want to do something there: same problem occurs. it acts like you click straight trough...

Then there's also a problem that the mouse sometimes randomly click the scroll button, wich disallows you to type/search normally in things like excel/internet pages.

Another weird thing: when im selecting things or clicking(NOT holding button down) and then moving the pointer, the object that i had clicked moved as if i still hold the mouse button down.

I tried using different mouses, different USB ports etc.
What i've tried too: restored the computer to the last update session, the problem wasn't there at that time. but didnt solved anything.

I scanned my pc with norman antivirus and windows defender(w-defender is normally off to make sure theres no interference between the two)

My system runs on windows 7 ultimate. my mouse is a g500, wich doesnt matter becouse other mouses didnt work either.
running on a I7 2600k

I hope anyone knows this problem/can help me.
Thanks in advance!

Hi I have two thoughts about this:

The first would be concerning the USB drivers... Are they updated. Does a wired mouse throught the PS2 socket give the same problem ?
The second would again be related to drivers but this time the graphics card

i dont have a mouse with an old port so couldn't check that. though after a long strugle with that idiotic mouse control i updated the drivers for my usb ports.
before this i saw alert signs at the usb port device managment screen, so it had to be the ports.
now the problem is fixed, glad it isnt a virus!

one thing i still dont get is why this happended, how can something that worked for over an year suddenly stop working.. but o well its working now!

my Thanks are big!

this toppic can be closed.

(also updated graphic card drivers, lots of versions further (shame shame :P) but that didnt't fixed the problem)

It sounds as though somehow the USB drivers were corrupted, maybe an improper shutdown or device removal who knows

Glad all is well now
