hey every1
i ave installd xp pro on to my system 3xs wit the 2 harddrives both the same western digital se 80 gig
the first time it was fine then the second time was wen i got the second harddrive it would shut my screen off and turn back on then the 3rd time it wont turn it bak on
im very pissd at this point and i dont think it is the harddrive ne more
i know the first time i had infectd files on the back up disks so of course i wouldnt install those files im not dumb of course lol
i know one of the files had a virus that had to of gotten on my system i just dont know why it stuck on ther
PLEASE HELP
ne help would be great

i would connnect the hard drive so i is a read only till you found the problem and then make it full acess and fix it.

ps wen i check for viruses it doesnt decect ne
also i know its not the harddrive bcause this harddrive is new i just got it yesterday and installd xp on it
the comp on now is my dads

ps im in safe mode that is the mode were it the screen doesnt shut off

start > control panel > power options

set everything to never.

does that address this issue?

i think it mit be a bug but wen i do scan it doesnt decect ne thing

you need to slow down and be clear.

When you say the screen goes off, what happens.

The screen goes off? The PC shuts down? (is the local drive still f)?

ok, screen goes off and pressing a key is not bringing it back up.

Does this occur with a different computer attached to the monitor, or this monitor attached to a different computer?

wait, what did not do it on his....his computer and your monitor or his monitor and your computer.

Have you installed the video drivers for this since installing xp?

What drivers, EXACTLY did you install

i tryd his monitor and it was fine and his computer and it was fine
and i installd the nvidia drivers but i installd those after it was happn

and you tried your computer on his monitor and it was fine

but your monitor and your computer are not fine? That is somewhat hard to believe.

In device manager, are there any yellow !s?
