how do i do a external port scan to see what ports are open from the outside?

Ok, so it's not a Windows CD. Maybe your recovery cd is what triggers the registry updated message everytime. Can you find out if that's the case or not?

Nope.. it does it on regular cd as well..When I am listening to music.. every somewhat of 10 or 15 min my computer sounds like it freezes up for a second stuttering as if something is using all of my memory to transfer something and have a virus scan the finds all of my urlmon files suspicious and.. I looked in event viewer and I have an error that says this The platform firmware has corrupted memory across the previous system power transition...?

Whether they are related.. not a clue.. I googled the error but got no conclusive answer..?
