I have an old machine I use for experimental work.
It is essentially a 486 with a Cyrix 333 running on a J53BF Motherboard.
Until recently I have had no problems. But a few days ago I found that the machine wouldn't boot up from the C drive. It will boot up from a DOS startup disc. I can then change to C and all is well.
I tried holding down the delete key to get into the setup, but it is now asking me for a password.
It has never done this before and I have never set a password. So I don't know how this has happened.
I understand that there may be a method of bypassing the password by changing a jumper on the motherboard.
Does anyone know if this is possible ?
I can still use the machine, but it is very inconvenient not being able to get into setup.
Dave.
