I have asked if someone else will take a look.

I am not leaving you but I have had a long day and am back at work at 0600 hrs again tomorrow,
So I am signing off again.

It is rare that I work those hours, but at the moment I am a bit tired

Sorry I have not been able to help to date and thanks again for your patience

Please be assured that I have not left you.
2300 hrs.
Was out at 0600 back in at 2030 hrs and am just too tired now to look again.

Long day again tomorrow, then I will be back on Thursday to try and resolve it.

Some suggestions from my colleagues, but we have tried them all.

Didn't use the first option as there was a software Distribution.old folder already. We tried that procedure earlier.

Ran the second scan but still unable to install Microsoft updates after rebooting.

Thanks for giving it a try. This has just been a bear. I guess this is one of those machines that can't be repaired through the normal troubleshooting process.

Downloaded and installed from link as suggested. It stated that the install was successful. Rebooted and tried to install other updates unsuccessfully. Attachment shows result of updating. It's always the same.
