Go HERE for step by step instructions on how to partition, format, and install XP fresh

http://lifehacker.co...atch-157578.php

The only thing you will have to do is delete the existing partition and then start with the instructions to create, format and install the new OS.
In theory that should get rid of everything on the hard drive and make everything like it was a brand new drive doing the OS install for the first time.

You can borrow a cd to do the install but the serial number should be on the system if it was preinstalled.
On a desktop system it will be in one of the following places.
Side, Back Bottom or inside on the panel you can remove.
On a laptop it is usually located on the bottom of the system.
