Networking puzzle: Only one of three devices can connect completely to Hot Spot

My hardware is Compaq desktop with Windows XP & Buffalo network
adapter WL12-PC1-G54s; Dell laptop with Windows 7; Samsung 10.1 tablet; CenturyLink
(Qwest) router (WPA2) and a 4G only Clearwire Hot Spot (WPA2) security also.

Situation: Desktop & tablet can connect to the router, but not the Hot Spot; Laptop
can connect to both devices?????

Note: Buffalo Client Manager displays strong signal from Hot Spot and Windows tool
bar indicates connected, but then Buffalo states "Attempting Authentication" which
fails after several attempts. Both signals use the same encryption key.

It appears that the Hot Spot is transmitting and the network adapters on all the
devices are receiving the signal, but the problem might be in the Authentication
which doesn't make sense since the laptop has no problem connecting to Hot Spot???

Hello there! :)

A weird one indeed.
Can you (for the sake of troubleshooting) try connecting to the HotSpot when you remove the security from the device?

Olrik

Artellos-When I asked Clearwire about how to revising my encrytion key I found out that I was using my Clearwire account password instead of my hot spot encrytion key, which of course were different and all is well now.................thx again for the advise. How do I close out this thread or can you do it for me?

Glad to hear all is well now, and you're most welcome!

And at Geeks to Go we don't close solved threads. No need really, but thanks for posting back that all is working now!
