Well disabling that didnt work.

I almost convinced my hard drive is about shot. This screen comes up every time I start up. The HD was clicking and took awhile to load. I was able to get it running long enough to get my important data transferred to my laptop....Researched a lot and it said when a hd started to go it may not be writing to the memory, which could be explain some the BSOD. I have another pc that runs on XP slower than snot & I dont know what compatible to try thing outs

Run hard drive diagnostics: http://www.tacktech....ay.cfm?ttid=287
Make sure, you select tool, which is appropriate for the brand of your hard drive.
Depending on the program, it'll create bootable floppy, or bootable CD.
If downloaded file is of .iso type, use ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/ to burn .iso file to a CD (select "Write image file to disc" option), and make the CD bootable.

NOTE. If your hard drive is made by Toshiba, try the Hitachi DFT CD Image version of the software

No its not fixed, I been outta town & havent had time to really mess with it.

The only change im seeing is that instead a different a 0xWhateverCode each time. They've all been 0x124. And that black screen still comes up at start up.

Can you get me a new BSOD log please.

Download BlueScreenView
No installation required.
Double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

Mate,

Can you zip the files in the c:\windows\minidump directory and upload to the forum.

Start -> type in "Windows explorer"
Go to c:\windows\minidump
Select all files.
Right click -> "Send To" -> "Compressed (zip) folder".
It will create a file with a .zip on the end of it.

Then on the forum, click on "Use Full Editor".
Just below that you will see a button "Click to attach files". Find the .zip file you created.

If you upload the zip file everyone can look at the .dmp (Crash dump) file

Mate,

Could you please turn on "Kernel Dumps"

Control Panel -> System and Security -> System -> Advanced System Settings.
In there, there is a "Startup and recovery " panel.
Click on settings.

Where it Say's "Write debugging information" there is a drop down box.

It will say:

None
Small Memory Dump
Kernel Memory Dump <------------ Please select this one.
Complete Memory Dump

The size of the crash dump files will be about 256kb, but they will have more information. After you set it please Restart the Computer.
Then please upload the crash dumps when you get them.

I just have to get the Symbol files for Vista. I thought I had them.
