OK, that's good.
In post #33 rshaffer61 gave you a link to hard disk utilities.
Please choose the utility for your hard drive and test it.

I have a feeling that it might be your CPU. But I am hoping that I am wrong.

Im not finding what Im suppose to download. it just takes me to the seagate page

What you want is the SeaTools DOS cd ISO. Then follow the instructions in that post to burn the file correctly to a disk.

It will do because Samsung hard drives have been taken over by Seagate.

Therefore you simply select the Seagate for Dos and make the CD, that will boot to the Seagate disk check utility

Mate,

Something is modifying your core windows files. I cannot give you any advice on this site about that.
Maybe one of the Malware / virus guys can advise on checking your system.

It is very very strange.

I'm sorry that I had to ask about windows being valid, but there is something going on with your system.

Dunno, I have had the pc for almost 5 yrs no problems til about a couple months ago. I watch what I put on it because basically I dont wanna spend money on another one. I had put avast AV on it and that kinda when it started. At least with multiple 0x Codes, I have since removed it and and like i said it mainly 0x124 now, might get a 0xD1 here & there.

I cannot see it being the cause but did you simply uninstall avast or did you use this as well

http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility

Check please with that utility to ensure avast is completely removed.

Then reboot., as shown on the link.

ALSO do please run that Seatools, so that you are assured that the disk is OK

I have posted separately to my last so that you cannot miss it.

On post 24 my colleague rshaffer61 asked you to run chkdsk /r

Tutorial for running chkdsk in Vista\Win 7 located HERE.

I have just read the whole topic again and notice that you never posted the results, as after that suggestion by my colleague you were away for a number of days from the topic,

I wrongly presumed that you had run the chkdsk /r.

and the Seatools had now been suggested to confirm the report from chkdsk /r.

The message you mention that appears on boot on your post 32 - diskette seek drive failure MAY be accounted for if the computer does not have a floppy drive, but the BIOS still allows the floppy drive to be set as first boot device.

as per this link here

Easily enough to correct the bios for the floppy drive seek as I'm sure Mac will be able to instruct you how to do.

I dont remember if ran chkdsk or not. That will be next.

No floppy drive. But before I changed the boot order i believe it was set as

Removable 1st
Hard disk 2nd
Cd 3rd
Floppy disabled

OK we will wait for the result

RUN the chkdsk /r as well please, as that will provide us with additional evidence.

Seatools when run on a Seagate HDD provides an error code, that conveys to Seagate what is wrong.

Seagate like all other manufacturers do NOT make public the meaning of ALL the error codes

Whether or not the Seagate test now also provides error codes for Samsung drives I do not know, but we DO NEED that chkdsk /r result as well

If the chkdsk /r reveals bad sectors then if you have NOT already done so ensure your personal data - at least - is backed up.
