hi, i realy appreciate any time givin to help me. ok, it all started with my computer running hella slow. when i had no programs running i still had a laundry list as long as my arm of processes running on my task manager so i figured i had a problem. i then found this bad [bleep] site with all you computer pimps helping out the retards like my self and i downloaded adaware. i run the scan and it finds like 57 baddies on it, and im not sure if i deleted them or just left them in quaranteen cause i had no clue what i was doing, but it shortened my processes list down to just one page. awsome, it got rid of that issas crapolla and all the other bad stuff. but then my mom gives me microsoft antispyware and i uninstall adaware and put that on and boom all that crap is back on my computer and the micrsoft scan comes back as 0 problems detected when isass and all kinds of other crap are just running happily. i uninstall microsoft put adaware back on and no matter how hard i try i cant get it to complete a full scan. the program just freezes up after scanning about 60,000-90,000 files. how do i correct this????? its maddening. please help someone. i wanna throw my computer out the window soooo bad. thanks alot if anyone replies

Hello and Welcome

There are a number of options we can use in this situation. Firstly, please make sure you have the latest definition file: SE1R49 31.05.2005

We highly suggest doing a Disk Defragmentation and follow it with a thorough Check or Scan Disk, depending upon your version of Windows.

You could try scanning in: Safe mode

Another option is to try a command line:
1. Click "Start" > select "Run" > type the text shown in bold below (including the quotation marks and with the same spacing as shown)

"C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware SE Personal\Ad-Aware.exe" +procnuke

Click OK.

Please note that the path above is of the default installion location for Ad-aware SE, if this is different, please adjust it to the location that you have installed it to.

2. When the scan has completed, select Next.
3. In the Scanning Results window, select the "Scan Summary" tab.
4. Check the box next to each "target family" you wish to remove.
5. Click next, Click OK.

If you still have a problem, cancel BEFORE the scan reaches the point of stalling -- say after 20 objects are detected. Then click cancel and click on the logfile. Remove any objects you choose and rescan. Again stop the scan before it reaches the point of stalling and remove any additional objects. Then try a full scan without stopping it.

Please let us know how you make out and which option worked.

All the best

Andy

Hello.
Please make sure that you are currently running Build 1.06 which is the latest one..
Download & install Cleanup from; http://cleanup.stevengould.org/
Run few free online scans;
- RAV
- Kaspersky
- Trend Micro

After you have checked your current version of Ad-aware, (in the case that it is an old version, please uninstall it and download the latest one from;
http://www.download....4-10045910.html )
run the online scans,
then run CleanUp.
It will ask you to reboot to finish, confirm with "Ok".
Then try running Ad-aware's full system scan.
