I just built, or tried to build, my first computer. I got everything I bought installed and upon start up get a media test failure, check cable error.

I read in the manual that the processor needs a video card, but I have an i5 with integrated graphics. When I googled it I kept seeing it was the cables? Everything is brand new. I did unplug the hdd and plug it back in but that did not work. I do have a spare Sata cable but it appears I have everything plugged in so I figured it was just extra. Are Sata cables specific to a certain device? Is possible I mixed those up.

My full list of components includes..

Intel dz68db motherboard
Intel i5 2500k
Seagate 1tb hdd
Hp cd drive
Rosewill 650w psu
Corsair 2x4gb ram
And an encore electronics wireless adapter

Double checking before I post this, the Sata cables that are plugged into the motherboard are the hdd, cd drive, and one attached to the case. Am I missing one?

Thanks so much fr the help.

Update: I got the media test failure message to go away by disabling it to boot from my wireless adapter.

Everything's is good and working again.
