Thank you so much for replying in advance. This is a new computer from last year. This is also the third computer bought because the other two old computers were completely annilated by viruses (can't even turn them on). So I dont want THIS computer destroyed either.

I have adaware and Ewido and SpySubtract, and Spyware Protection from AOL. All of them (except SpySYubtract) found Surferbuddy. I found th file in Windoes32 folder but couldnt delete. Spyware Protection from aol could only detect and block but not actually delete. Same goes with the rest. I have Ewido's guard on.

Everytime when i start my computer, my Windows Media Player mysteriously always opens up. Then it stops responding if i press x sometimes.

I also have recentstuff from nowhere today too. Ewido ALWAYS alerts me with the same trojans. When i clicked CLEAN, it always tells me to reboot. But after I turned off and on the computer, the same thing happens again. THe same thing when it was scanning. It stopped at %40(not sure) and says it will continue scanning after i reboot but it didnt.

Hi Jepmz

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Please download Nailfix from here:
http://www.noidea.us...p?...5010747824
Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Now run the nails.cmd fix

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Clear out the files in the Prefetch folder. Go to start> run> type into the box Prefetch and delete all the files in that folder.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items:

Thank You so much in advance. I appreciate your time so eternally much. ;)

A few things you listed didnt turn up in Hijack This. I couldnt find these F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
O2 - BHO: WinStat - {0A51FD8D-6835-4212-B796-AFC24F4D108A} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\WinStat10.dll and a few others. I realized i erased WinStat11.dll instead, tho. But I did erased winstat10.dll in the Windows32 tho(and not erase the 11 one). But in the Window32 folder, i found a Winstat10.BAT, should i have erased that?

I still have my Windows Media player automatically popping up when i turn on my computer. It's rather annoying.

Hi Jepmz

When you start to run a fix items that are in the last log some will have been deleted with the software we use so items that have been removed will not show in the HijackThis.log that is a good thingy :tazz:

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AlcxMonitor] ALCXMNTR.EXE
O16 - DPF: NDWCab - http://www.neededware.com/ndw2.cab
Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

If you were unable to find any of the files then please follow these additional instructions:
Download Pocket Killbox and unzip it; save it to your Desktop.
Run killbox and click the radio button that says Delete a file on reboot. For each of the files you could not delete, paste them one at a time into the full path of file to delete box and click the red circle with a white cross in it.
The program will ask you if you want to reboot; say No each time until the last one has been pasted in whereupon you should answer Yes.

I don't see anymore noticable problems anymore after following your instructions

all except my WindowsMedia Player STILL keeps popping out everytime i restart. It's so irritating. If it's not a virus, then whats wrong with it? :tazz:

Hi Jepmz

If you don't use Windows Media Player you can uninstall the program:

Go to control panel windows add remove program file's now click on

Add remove/Windows components scroll down the list when you see Windows Media Player untick the box then click next and just follow the guide it will remove Windows Meadia player.

If you want to remove Windows Media Player from boot startup only open the media player click on setting/options and untick the box start media player on startup.

Post back let me know if that worked I am just checking you HJT.log Will post a reply to that later.
