computer powers down after new graphics card installed

Installed graphics card about one year ago and recently computer powers down by itself .Recently removed graphics card and no more powering down but cant play games . Was working in beginning , has graphics card gone bad?

It sounds like that's what has happened. I think the card is pulling too much power thru the card slot on the motherboard which sends the system into shutdown to keep from frying itself. Have you tried different slot's(if available)? If it still does it then it is the video card.

Seems like this could also be a power supply problem. What make/model supply do you have and what is it rated at?

What make/model video card and what is it's power requirement?
