I don't know what's going on with my pc, but it's just been newly formatted and everything just installed this past month.
Got all the best anti-spyware progs, and Pc-Cilling for anti-virus program, so I know my Pc is clean.

But every other day half of my desktop icons disappear, and the toolbar icons also have to be redone for me to see them too.

you know i right click on bottom toolbar then click properties, then click show quick launch , because that seems to change on me as well when the icons disappear.

Please, Help, me...I'm no newbie with pc's, but this one has thrown me for a loop.
Desktop.ini corrupted or what? How can i fix this Bill Gates poison dejour?

Thanks for any replys to this post....

Hello and welcome to Geeks to Go! :tazz: I'm kool808 and I will be helping you today.

You may want to read about Rogue Anti-Spyware Applications.
  • Please download Spybot Search & Destroy and Ad-Aware.
Follow all the instructions on this website to run a scan with both of these softwares.
  • Please Download CoolWebShredder , Extract it & run the program. Click the Check for Updates, download if there is available. Click Fix ->.
  • Download and install Spy Sweeper, its a 30-day trial yet a very great tool. Run the program, download the latest updates, then SCAN. After scanning and removing malwares, close it.
  • Download and install Cleanup, then run.
Even the best antispyware programs are only able to remove about 70% of infections. Also, the line between spyware and trojans is getting blurred. You can never be too careful with these, I recommend at least one online scan.

Now, REBOOT in Normal Mode and have an On-line scan at this sites: Trend Micro or Panda Scan.

REBOOT again.
