Hi All,

I am having a problem with Windows 2000, at present what it is doing is it runs totally fine but when i got to listen to or watch any media or sometimes without having to do that it slows right down to a near hault and then all of a sudden speeds up to normal speed again like there is some sort of data blockage and it seems to do it quite randomly but especially when using media intense activities, i never have had this before and it is driving me mad.

This what i am currently running
Windows 2000
64mb AGP NVIDA 3 card
768mb Ram
AMD Athlon 1800+

I also us Norton AVG 2005 and have scanned for viruses and spyware etc and i dont have any and i dont use any memory refresh programs, any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Michael

It does it on everything via hard disk or via cd/dvd, sometimes i wont be running anything at all as such but just drops in performance. But with Media it would be using Windows media player 9 and i also use Winamp 5.09 i think this is a very random thing but it is most noticable when playing media because it messes things up. but even when typing this message it done this and i have nothing really running apart from the stuff like Norton AVG in the background, i can tell it slwed down because i was typing away and nothing that i was typing was coming up then all of a sudden a whole sentence appeared and everything was then running smoothly again it drives me mad.
