there is nothing like DOS app to recover your files
windows based app r sucks!!!!!!
here is a link of a great boot disk... there is a lot of tools to recover your date from there:
its an eMule like hehehe
and of course everyting is free free free
in the meanwhile... dont write anything on the formated partition...

For harddisk recovery it's Ontrack Datarecovery, Filerepair is to fix damaged files, and Professional is a combination of these packages combined with Emailrepair.
